By way of experiment, LOT, Anéla and AVT will organise the Dutch Annual Linguistics Day of 2020 on Friday January 31 rather than on the first Saturday of February. This change is financially attractive and also allows us to organise this important event on a regular working day. Given that the amount of teaching that week is in general quite low we hope teaching obligations will interfere little with the DALD. We will of course monitor the impact of this break with tradition.
The DALD will be preceded on Thursday by CLIN (Computational Linguistics in the Netherlands). CLIN will also take place in Utrecht and this makes January 30 and 31 into the first linguistic highlight of 2020. The next highlight follows in August with AILA 2020, the world conference of the Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliquée. Anéla will be at the wheel and the destination is Groningen.
We are looking forward to this very successful linguistic year!
