The jury of the LOT Populariseringsprijs 2019, consisting of Mathilde Jansen (chair, Meertens/NEMO Kennislink), Folkert Kuiken (UvA), and Mark de Vries (RUG), has evaluated a large number of submissions and has nominated three projects for the prize. These are:
– The Etymology Calendar prepared by Linguistics’ students Laura Dees, Pascale Eskes, Lotte Meester, Gerard Spaans, and Vera Zwennes from Leiden University.
– The educational project Scholar@School of the Leuven Linguistics Department.
– Liesbeth Koenen’s book Wat je zegt, gaat vanzelf.
During De Grote Taaldag 2020, to be held in Utrecht on Friday January 31, 2020, in Utrecht, the jury will reveal the prize winner of the LOT Populariseringsprijs 2019. The LOT Newsletter as well as the LOT website will pay special attention to the projects nominated as well as to the other projects that were proposed for the prize.
