On April 17th, 2019, the 2in1 project at Radboud University (Nijmegen) will organise a workshop on the topic of language development in bilingual children, addressing issues such as how best to measure bilingual children’s language proficiency, the relationship between language proficiency and language experience (exposure, use, context), and how, when and why a bilingual child’s two languages influence each other. As well as local speakers, the programme includes Erika Hoff (Florida Atlantic University), Elma Blom (Utrecht University), Cynthia Core (George Washington University) and Josje Verhagen (University of Amsterdam). The full programme is available here.
Workshop and Call for Posters
This is an informal workshop, organized on the occasion of Erika Hoff’s extended visit to the 2in1 project as a Radboud Excellence Initiative professor. In keeping with the low-key nature of the event, we will hold a “recycled” poster session. If you have a poster from a previous workshop or conference which fits the workshop theme, or a draft of a poster which you would like to try out (e.g., ahead of ISB in Edmonton in June), simply sign up and come along.
Everyone is welcome to attend (with or without poster), and attendance is free. However, in order to ensure we have sufficient food and drink for all and at the same time avoid waste and keep costs as minimal as possible, we kindly ask you to register if you intend to attend (and let us know if you subsequently decide not to come). Note that space is limited. You can sign up here.
We look forward to welcoming you to Nijmegen in April.
