On Friday, April 5 2019, Anéla and VIOT (the Dutch and Flemish associations for applied
linguistics and discourse studies) will organize their annual junior researcher day
(Juniorendag) at the Christelijke Hogeschool at Ede. At the Juniorendag, graduate students, junior researchers and PhD candidates in the field of applied linguistics present their work.
The first plenary will be held by dr. Martine Noordegraaf (University of Applied Sciences
Ede): Can Conversation Analysis help to change interactions in institutional settings?
Dilemma’s and opportunities of using Conversation Analysis as an interventionist approach. The second plenary session will be held by dr. Sterre Leufkens (Utrecht University):
Transparency in language – a typological study of learnability.
Abstracts of the keynotes and more details and updates on the program can be found on the Anéla website. During the Juniorendag several prizes will be awarded: the poster prize for the best poster presentation of the day and the annual Anéla-VIOT Scriptieprijs to the best masterthesis in the field of applied linguistics.
