Leiden Summer School in Languages and Linguistics 2025
The Leiden Summer School in Languages and Linguistics offers a varied program of specialised courses in Descriptive linguistics, in Chinese, Germanic, Indo-European, Indian, Iranian, Semitic languages and linguistics, as well as a number of introductory linguistic courses.
During these two weeks of intense learning, you will be able to deepen and broaden your knowledge, at the same time enjoy the company of linguistics students and enthusiasts from all over the world.
RM students can gain LOT credits by participating in the LLL, which are accounted for by means of a LOT certificate.
The following conditions apply:
- RM students take two or three different courses at the LLL. Two courses at the LLL will be converted into 3 LOT credits; three courses into 5 LOT credits.
- It is not possible to gain LOT credits by writing a paper at the LLL. No less than two and no more than three courses can be taken.
The fee for the participation LLL by LOT RM students is covered by LOT. For travel and accommodation costs the same rules apply as for the LOT Summer and Winter Schools.
Course information
- All courses are taught in English, which means that good knowledge of the English language is a basic requirement. Only the course on Russian literature is taught in Russian.
- Most courses will be hybrid, so they will be given on campus and online, at the same time. A few courses are on campus only, as indicated in the program and course descriptions.
- At the end of the Summer School, participants who successfully completed the course will receive a certificate, which will indicate the courses followed. The certificate must be forwarded to lot@uva.nl in order to receive the LOT certificate.
